My experience with Copa Airlines

I had 4 flights with Copa Airlines and decided to make a short review about it. I was flying to Rio de Janeiro with a stopover in Panama City, homebase of the airline. Copa operates fleet of Boeing 737 that connects North and South Americas, flying to over 70 destinations in 30 countries. Their planes configured with two cabins: Business Class and Economy Class. Copa, which is part of the Star Alliance, is classified as a budget airline because, compared to most other airlines, it provides the cheapest fares.

Legroom of the seat

I was flying in Economy Class. Seats are arranged in 3-3 layout and have 31 inches of legroom, 17 inch of width, and 4 inches of recline. My seat felt narrower with less legroom, but it’s bearable for the flight up to 4 hours. Inflight entertainment was provided on the nine-inch screen, it didn’t have wide variety of choices, and it was dated. There’s a USB power outlet, but no in-seat power provided. There was no Wi-Fi on board. So, my flights were super boring. I also must mention that there’s no blankets provided, and it’s coldish on board.

Quality of food and beverage of Copa Airlines are below average. Food is barely eatable and as of drinks there’s not much of choice, once again. After meals were served, there was no other beverage service for my almost 7-hour flight. That left me very disappointed. Airline could at least sell certain drinks and food to the passengers. Maybe meals of better quality? On my return journey I prepared beforehand and brought along some sandwiches and juices.

Lunch was tasteless

Summary

Is it worth flying Copa Airlines? If it can save you money go with this airline, otherwise try to avoid it. Unless you really want to do a stopover in Panama City.
